Where your audio goes

Audio is deleted within 24 hours. Transcripts are never used to train AI.

The path of a file

  1. Your browser first prepares the file on your device: it reads the length and, for video, pulls out the audio track. Nothing is uploaded yet.
  2. The audio goes straight from your browser to Cloudflare R2 storage over an encrypted connection. It does not pass through our servers.
  3. We give Soniox, our transcription provider, a time-limited link to the file so it can fetch the audio and return text.
  4. When the transcript comes back, we delete the copy at Soniox right away.
  5. Within 24 hours of the transcript being done, the audio is deleted from R2. Audio waiting for payment is kept at most 7 days.

Not used to train AI

Your audio and transcripts are never used to train AI — not by us, and not by Soniox, whose API terms exclude customer content from model training.
